<h1>SEND AND RECEIVE SMS USING USB MODEM AT UBUNTU with GNOME PHONE MANAGER</h1>

hi all, two weeks i didn’t update post on this blog because of beausy in the real world, so long it feels.

Are you using a usb modem for internet connection in ubuntu / linux mint? Have you ever had the desire to send and receive sms via modem? I am sure you would say yes.

On ubuntu / linux mint are very easy to use application to connect to the internet such as network manager, but the network manager there is no feature to send or receive SMS.

To send or receive SMS in ubuntu / linux mint you can use the GNOME PHONE MANAGER. To install this application, open a terminal and then type the command

Sudo apt-get install gnome-phone manager

Application Phone manager can be open through the menu application a System Tools a phone manager. After you click the phone manager, phone manager icon will be located on the bottom right panel desktop. So that you can use this application, right-click the phone manager icon and then select the preference. The most important thing is to set the phone coonection. Click on the Connection tab, the phone connection, there are 5 choices, we will use the option to the other five ports. My modem is detected as / dev/ttyusb0.

To send an sms, please click the phone icon manager, fill no purpose, write your message and click send.
